To mark the Data Protection Day on 28 January the Islands Data Governance Forum will be holding a conference on Friday 27 January.
The purpose of Data Protection Day is to raise awareness and promote data protection best practices. The date marks the anniversary of the Council of Europe’s Convention 108 on the protection of personal information, the first legally binding international law and is celebrated every year by countries both in the European Union and outside of it. In the spirit of what the day is about the conference speakers will be covering a variety of topics including collaboration between CERT’s and Data Protection regulators both in the islands and across wider jurisdictions. The conference is aimed at a mixed audience and attendees do not need to have prior knowledge on data protection/governance or cyber security.
