Wood Heat 2023

Date of event 24 - 25 October 2023

Time 09:00 - 16:00

Location Chesford Grange, Kenilworth, Warwick, CV8 2LD

This October sees the Wood Heat Conference return to being in-person since the pandemic.

A packed agenda over two days, will strive to provide a platform where the industry can gather to network, share ideas and experiences, discuss some of the challenges we are facing, and look to the year ahead.

No two years are ever the same in the UK biomass energy sector and with so much going on in the wood heat industry in 2023 – do we need to step back and take a good look forward to see the opportunities that lay ahead?

Topics that will be discussed are:

  • With the RHI closed, the biomass strategy just released and new standards evolving – what does the biomass heat sector look like in 2023?
  • How can we finance our industry in a post-subsidy environment? What opportunities are there for growth and innovation?
  • How are new wood heat standards impacting the industry? How can we ensure our technology is sustainable and as green as possible, without discouraging investment?
  • With the war in Ukraine still raging, how can we secure supplies of feedstocks to protect UK energy security and our consumers – what role can feedstock innovation play in this?

Gemserv’s Head of Policy Insights and Engagement, Samantha Shea has been confirmed as one of the speakers at this event. She will be speaking about Green Heat Network Fund.
