Supporting the retrofit and heat pump markets skills gap in the South West – research study

Gemserv has been commissioned by the South West Net Zero Hub, working across seven Local Enterprise Areas in Somerset, Devon, Gloucester and Hampshire to produce four reports to identify skills and employment gaps in the insulation retrofit and heat pump sectors in the South West region.

It will aim to identify what provision is currently available, skills gaps and requirements to meet the region’s net zero ambitions. The study will finish in March 2023 and will play a significant role for the region, through development of future policy and delivery in training, education and workforce development as the region progresses towards its ambitious net zero targets.

To support us in our study, Gemserv will be contacting local businesses involved in the insulation retrofit and heat pump industry, education and training providers and local government officials and organisations to inform our understanding of the market locally, focussing on its skills and workforce requirements.
